The next responsibility of a Responsible Leader is to build into their organization’s culture is a mindset of accountability to deliver results.

Accountability is a critical component of a strong company culture. It is integral in helping to shape behavior, attitudes, and values for everyone within the organization. A few of the many benefits of accountability include:

  • Employees that are held accountable help to develop TRUST and TRANSPARENCY within the team.

  • Accountability helps an organization achieve GREATER RESULTS / IMPROVED PERFORMANCE.

  • INNOVATION and CREATIVITY are natural outcomes of accountability. As problems occur people look for and implement the best solutions.

  • Accountability also encourages CONTINUOUS LEARNING and DEVELOPMENT

We have found that developing a culture of accountability can be one of the hardest things a company does. Accountability requires a leadership team to have vision. It requires leadership to be consistent in their decisions. It requires a higher level of focus and discipline. It requires the leadership to create and implement a plan for the whole organization. All of this requires a leadership team that intentionally takes time to work on their business instead of spending all of their time working in the business.


It is important to understand that developing an effective and successful culture is an on-going process that requires continuous effort and improvement driven by the leadership team. As everyone on the team becomes increasingly responsible, the culture of the organization grows stronger and stronger. With consistent effort over time come positive results in all areas of the company.
